One of the most common issue that causes delays in trading in an Apple device, is that the device is iCloud / Activation locked. ItsWorthMore, or any other eCommerce company can’t resell the device until the lock is removed. Here is how to remove the iCloud lock from your iPhone.
What is iCloud?
iCloud is simply a service that keeps all your devices in sync. In other words, you can share information between an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and a computer. The information on each device is automatically updated to make sure the most current information is available on all devices.
How Do I Remove iCloud?
BEFORE COMPLETING THESE STEPS, ASSURE THAT YOUR PHONE IS TURNED OFF.
You cannot remove the iCloud lock with a device that is currently on.
Step 1:
Open up your web browser and go to http://www.icloud.com.
Step 2:
Login with your Apple ID and click Enter.
Step 3:
When the page loads, your screen should look as follows:
Towards the bottom you should see the icon for “Find iPhone”. Click this button.
Step 4:
At the top center of the screen, locate “All Devices” and click the drop-down arrow. From here there will be a list off all your devices currently connected to your iCloud.
Step 5:
This is the essential step that only shows up if your device is turned OFF.
When your device is on, when you click the one you wish to remove iCloud from, you get an option to “Erase”. This is the option most people click. It essentially erases all the iCloud data off your phone, however, it is still linked to your account.
If your device is off, directly on the drop-down menu, next to the device you click, you will see a grey “X”. Click this to choose to remove this device from your account.
Step 6:
Confirm the removal of the device and you are all set for trade-in!
Now that you’re ready to sell your old iPhone, go to our offer page to determine the true value of your device.
